Your Donations Make a Difference! TOTY® Awards to Showcase the Impact of Your Toy Bank

September 5, 2023 | Every child deserves the opportunity to experience comfort, joy, and the extraordinary benefits of play. Since 2003, your support of The Toy Foundation™’s (TTF) Toy Bank^SM has helped more than 31 million children in need experience the power of play.

Metro World Child, one of TTF’s long-time Toy Bank partners, aids thousands of inner-city children and their families with programs to support spiritual, physical, and emotional growth. Representatives from Metro World Child, and the children and families they serve, will join the industry at the Toy of the Year® Awards, taking place September 29 at Cipriani 42^nd Street, to share the powerful impact of your donations. Purchase tickets to attend the industry’s biggest party of the year and meet the Metro World Child team.

During the summer, Metro World Child hosts summer block parties in New York City’s most underserved communities. TTF and Paramount, a regular Toy Bank supporter, joined in on the fun at a block party in Coney Island this past July and surprised every child with a new toy.

“Participating in an event like this is a great reminder of why the work of The Toy Foundation is so important. Seeing the joy on the kids’ faces after getting one of our toys is an experience I’ll never forget,” said Stephanie Bailey, vice president, global toys at Paramount.

Many children in NYC and around the world grow up in difficult and challenging environments, and access to play can deliver powerful, lasting impacts. A new toy is a reminder they are loved, a friend when they are lonely, an opportunity to learn, and so much more. It can also be a relief for parents when they cannot afford the latest toys.

“Metro World Child and The Toy Foundation working together to give every child a gift is so special,” said Alfredo, a Metro World Child leader. “I grew up in Metro, and today kids have more responsibilities than just being a child, so getting a new toy they can take home helps them feel like they have a childhood, which is the most important thing for them.”

The Toy Bank is your 365 day a year partner to simplify exhibit move out, donate excess inventory, and respond to emergency situations. All Toy Fair® exhibitors can donate product, of any quantity and size, from their exhibit at the close of the show by submitting a donation form online.

Companies can donate products any time of the year (click here for the donation form) and TTF will coordinate a pickup from your warehouse. As the holiday season approaches, donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
