Toy Industry Foundation Launches #ToyBank25 Campaign

TIF Aims to Bring its Collective Number of Children Served to a Record 25 Million Disadvantaged Kids

New York, NY | August 8, 2017 –  The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) has launched #ToyBank25 – a new campaign that seeks to bring the number of disadvantaged children served to a collective 25 million through the toy community’s generous donations of brand-new toys and games.

Toy companies, distributors, and retailers are invited to join the movement by donating their toys and games to TIF’s Toy Bank. Since The Toy Bank launched in 2003, 23.8 million deserving children have received toys and games, thanks to the generous and caring spirit of the toy community.  Through the #ToyBank25 campaign, the Foundation is aiming to serve an additional 1.2 million children by the end of 2017, and raise $43 million in toy donations, bringing The Toy Bank’s cumulative total to 25 million served and $225 million in toys.

The Foundation will work with its vast network of partners to deliver the toys to kids who are undergoing medical treatments, impoverished, living in foster care or on a U.S. military base, or otherwise in need. Companies are also encouraged to use #ToyBank25 on social media to raise awareness about the cause.

“The generosity of many toy companies has afforded us the ability to serve millions of deserving children, many of whom have very few, if any, toys to call their own. But we can’t and won’t stop here,” says Jean Butler, executive director at the Toy Industry Foundation. “There are many more children that need our help, and we can’t do it alone. We are counting on the toy community to share their toys and games so that we can continue bringing joy and laughter to these kids through the gift of a brand-new toy.”

The Toy Bank accepts donations of action figures, arts and crafts, dolls, plush, puzzles, and every other type of toy and game. Companies can donate everything from boxes to pallets to truckloads, and in most cases, TIF can arrange for a free pick-up of donations. Toys and games are distributed to a network of more than 1,000 charities across the nation and around the globe. Visit www.TheToyBank.org to learn more.
