The Toy Foundation™ (TTF) will be the beneficiary of a truly one-of-a-kind auction item: a rare Beckett Black Label Pokémon card that Dragon Shield, a global leader in premium trading card game accessories, and Beckett, the premier grading and authentication company for trading cards and collectibles, recently launched to the edge of space. Returning with its pristine Black Label status intact, the card will be auctioned online through Heritage Auctions from November 12-19, 2025, with all proceeds benefiting TTF. Dragon Shield and Beckett worked in collaboration with Sent Into Space to send the rare card to the edge of space, protected by three layers of Dragon Shield Sleeves: a Sealable Perfect Fit Inner Sleeve, a Matte Dual Art Sleeve, and an Outer Sleeve. The sleeved card was exposed to extreme conditions including rain, wind, and freezing temperatures (-70 °C / -94 °F) on a journey that lasted approximately 180 minutes from takeoff to touchdown.
After landing, the card was resubmitted to Beckett for grading, which confirmed the card maintained its pristine Black Label status.

"If Dragon Shield can protect cards in space, imagine what it can do for collections at home," said Kevin Isaacson, CEO of Collēctīvus Holdings, parent company of Dragon Shield and Beckett. "Collectors invest thousands of dollars in their cards, and this demonstrated that Dragon Shield sleeves have what it takes to keep collections pristine. Having the opportunity to support The Toy Foundation through this mission makes it even more meaningful.”
All auction proceeds will support TTF’s key program areas: Toy Chest, which delivers brand-new toys to under-resourced communities to support children in need and Play Fund, which distributes funding to bring the healing power of play to children’s hospitals and disaster zones.
“The Toy Foundation is grateful to Dragon Shield and Beckett for their support in delivering the power of play to children around the world,” said Pamela Mastrota, executive director of TTF. “To support our work and own a truly one-of-a-kind Pokémon card, place your bids by November 19.”
