Offer Comfort to Underserved Kids with Your Toy Donations

February 22, 2021 | As the official charity of Toy Fair New York, The Toy Foundation (TTF) and its volunteers typically collect upwards of 60,000 toys and games valued at over half a million dollars by the show’s close. But with the show’s postponement until 2022, ensuring that every child still experiences the joy, comfort, and healing of play is more important than ever.

TTF is once again calling on the toy community to donate products for children in underserved communities through its signature Toy Bank program.

“We know the powerful impact play can have on children’s emotional and social health, particularly during times of stress like the pandemic, so now is the time to act with your generous donations,” said Elizabeth Max, senior manager of The Toy Foundation. “If you have excess inventory, let us help put it into the hands of kids who may need those toys most.”

Through the Toy Bank, each year TTF delivers toys to hundreds of children’s charities within its network of 1,000+ organizations. These efforts guarantee that all donated toys and games make it into the hands of underprivileged families and children, children coping with serious illnesses, those living with domestic violence, and/or dealing with natural disasters.

The Toy Bank accepts brand-new toys and games of all kinds, including action figures, arts and crafts, dolls, plush, skill-building puzzles, and outdoor toys. All donations are tax deductible. Contact Elizabeth Max to learn more.

Since 2003, The Toy Foundation has provided nearly $225 million in brand-new toys to over 26 million deserving children through The Toy Bank. Last year, the Foundation also provided $360K in cash grants to nearly 4 million children severely impacted by the pandemic.
