‘Tis The Season to Start Giving: Gift Disadvantaged Children Extra Comfort This Holiday

October 25, 2021 | Just as The Toy Association is encouraging consumers to #shopearly4toys this year, The Toy Foundation (TTF) is calling on members of the toy and play community not to delay in donating to its holiday toy drive, if they have the ability to do so.

With the last year taking a mental toll on all Americans and the shipping crisis expected to impact toy supplies well beyond the holidays, certain communities continue to be disproportionately affected and TTF hopes to offer immediate assistance.

“Right now, we recognize the impact the supply chain disruptions are having on our members’ abilities to donate, but any size donation companies can make will go a long way in supporting disadvantaged children and their families,” said Elizabeth Max, director of strategic partnerships & programs at TTF. “No child should go without experiencing the joy and wonder of play during the holidays, and we encourage everyone in the play community to help us ensure a toy-filled season for a million children this year!”

TTF seeks toys for kids ages 3-13, including fidget toys, ride-ons, arts & crafts, puzzles and brains teasers, pretend play and dress-up toys, outdoor toys, games, and more. Free pick-up is available.

Companies with excess inventory to donate, no matter the amount, are encouraged to fill out and submit The Toy Bank product donation form. Questions may be directed to Elizabeth Max.

The Toy Bank is TTF’s year-round signature program that works with children’s charities worldwide to provide comfort and support through play to children undergoing complicated medical procedures, dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters, living in poverty, and those who have been neglected or abused.
