December 6, 2021 | Tickets are now on sale for The Toy Foundation’s 21st Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards ceremony, which will unveil the industry’s top toys, games, and properties, and honor the newest inductees into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame – Jim Pressman, former president of Pressman Toy Corporation; Bob Wann, chief PlayMonster at PlayMonster LLC; the late Johnny Gruelle, creator of Raggedy Ann and Andy; and the late Lucille King, founder of the Playskool Institute.
The gala will take place on Friday, February 18, 2021, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The TOTY Awards program and event serve as an essential fundraiser for The Toy Foundation.
“Purchasing a ticket to attend the 2022 TOTY Awards isn’t simply funding a night of celebration with industry friends and colleagues but a means of aiding the work of The Toy Foundation, from its grants to support play-based programming in children’s hospitals throughout the U.S. to toy donations to children in need year-round,” said Pamela Mastrota, executive director of The Toy Foundation.
This year’s winners will be awarded across 16 categories. Products will also earn a shot at taking home the coveted People’s Choice Award (based solely on consumer votes) and the overall Toy of the Year Award (selected by retailers, journalists, and Toy Association members).
This year’s TOTY Awards gala will kick off with a cocktail networking reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a plated dinner and dessert served during the award ceremony. Guests will be treated to live entertainment and a special tribute to The Toy Foundation.
Tickets for the entire evening cost $495 per person ($4,950 per 10-person table) for Toy Association members and $750 per person ($7,500 per 10-person table) for non-members.
The event serves as the lead in to the 118th annual Toy Fair New York, taking place February 19 to 22 at the Javits Center. To reserve tickets or tables, interested parties may register online. The Toy Association reserves the right to close ticket sales prior to February 11 if the TOTY Gala reaches capacity.
