The Toy Association’s Anna Yudina Discusses The Genius of Play at ACD Games Day

May 30, 2022 | The Toy Association’s Anna Yudina, senior director of marketing initiatives, led a presentation during ACD Games Day on the Association’s Genius of Play and STEAM initiatives, which continue to provide manufacturers, retailers, and others in the play community with resources to help their businesses grow.

The trade show was produced by ACD Distribution and took place May 25 to 27 in Madison, Wisconsin, drawing hundreds of attendees including retailers, game publishers, manufacturers, and educators.

“The Toy Association’s participation in this event was an excellent opportunity to share the incredible evolution of our Genius of Play and STEAM initiatives as well as how each can be an equally valuable resource not just for families and educators but also for toymakers and retailers looking to promote the benefits of play to their own audiences,” said Yudina.

In the presentation, Yudina provided an overview of The Genius of Play’s work, highlighting its research, expert-backed content, strategic partnerships, and the many free resources available at thegeniusofplay.org that companies can use to promote the benefits of play to consumers.

Yudina also discussed The Toy Association’s multi-year project to bring clarity to STEM/STEAM toys and to help toy companies develop and promote children’s products that drive interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Attendees learned how products can be evaluated using a uniform set of criteria from the Association’s STEAM Toy Assessment Framework and how to take advantage of the Association’s STEAM accreditation program for their playthings.
