Toy Fair® Exhibitors Joined to Donate $2 Million in Toys to Children in Need through The Toy Bank℠
October 9, 2023 | The impact of Toy Fair® extends well beyond the halls of Javits Center to children in need in New York City and the surrounding area. At the close of the 118th trade show, The Toy Foundation™’s (TTF) Toy Bank℠ collected $2 million in toys, books, games, and other playthings from hundreds of exhibitors that together are delivering the extraordinary benefits of play to more than 30,000 children.
The items collected are being distributed to 10 TTF mission partners including NYC-based nonprofits Brooklyn Youth Enrichment, Children of Promise, First Responders Children’s Foundation, Giving Friends, Metro World Child, New Alternatives for Children, and World Vision – Bronx. Additionally, Convoy of Hope, providing global disaster relief; Hope for Henry, supporting children’s hospitals nationwide; and North Star Foundation, aiding Ukrainian refugees, will also receive toys to distribute to the children they serve.
“Giving Friends is so grateful to receive these toys to deliver to Bronx families in need for the upcoming holiday season,” said Lynne Corry, founder of Giving Friends. “At a time when so many families are struggling, we are going to create so much joy, all thanks to Toy Fair exhibitors. The Toy Bank is Toy Fair’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and is the toy industry’s year-round partner to manage inventory, respond to emergency situations, and place toys, dolls, games, crafts, and more into the hands of children in need around the world. Additionally, TTF offers a network of 500 national and international nonprofits to broaden CSR efforts and make The Toy Bank a turnkey solution for the toy industry to support children in need.
