Online Auction Delivers Play to Attendees at the TOTY® Awards & Toy Fair®
Collectible and One-of-a-Kind Products and Experiences Will be Available for Bidding
July 11, 2023 | A reflection of the fun, creativity, and imagination of our industry, the new Toy of the Year® (TOTY®) Awards auction, hosted by The Toy Foundation™ (TTF), will feature a unique selection of highly collectible, one-of-a-kind products and experiences. Available for online bidding by TOTY Awards guests, Toy Fair® attendees, and toy enthusiasts around the world, all auction proceeds will go to a great cause delivering play to children in need.
TTF is calling on the industry for truly stand-out auction items. From a custom-made toy to a rare collectible, exclusive theme park experience, or day of invention with a toy designer, the possibilities of auction items are endless. To discuss and pledge an item, contact TTF staff.
The night’s headline entertainer, Grammy Award-winner Wyclef Jean, is joining the fun by offering backstage and on-stage experiences during his TOTY Awards performance. Attendees can place bids online in advance or the night of for the chance to sing a duet of “Killing Me Softly With His Song” or “Hips Don’t Lie” in front of friends and colleagues — and make a lifelong Toy Fair memory.
“One of our goals is for the TOTY Awards to be a true celebration of play, and the auction is one of the night’s activities that does exactly that,” said Pamela Mastrota, executive director of The Toy Foundation. “Whether you’re in the room, on the show floor, or at home, you can play alongside us as a bidder and support YOUR Foundation’s work impacting the lives of children in need.”
Auction proceeds will go toward supporting TTF’s programs to deliver the extraordinary benefits of play to children in need. Help us impact millions of children annually through distributing toys through The Toy BankSM, supporting play therapy programs in children’s hospitals, and developing the next generation of diverse talent for the industry.
The auction will open online in advance of the TOTY Awards, taking place September 29, and select items will remain open for online bids throughout all four days of Toy Fair, taking place September 30 through October 3.
For front-row access to the auction, purchase tickets to join TTF at the TOTY Awards at Cipriani’s 42nd Street in New York City at 6:30 p.m. Limited quantities of individual tickets and tables of 10 are still available.
